How to Pray

How to Pray!
The bible says in Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let your petitions be made known to God".

This bible verse tells us that in everything that we go through to take i t God in prayer.
1. Prayer is simply talking to God just like you would talk to your very best friend.
    1 Thessalonians 5:17 says " Pray without Ceasing "

    2. Through out your day continuous conversation to God about your day, about your problems about someone you meet, about someone you know, or just to say thank you just to rejoice and praise him.

I know through out my day if someone ask me to pray for them I will stop what I am doing and pray. I do this because I don't want to forget to pray for them later on in my busy day.

    The Model Prayer (Matthew 6:5-13)

“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.
“Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.  In this manner, therefore, pray:

          Our Father in heaven,
          Hallowed be Your name.
            Your kingdom come.
          Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
           And forgive us our debts,
          As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

This means (from the message bible):  When you come before God, don't turn that into a theatrical production either. All these people making a regular show out of their prayers, hoping for stardom! Do you think God sits in a box seat? "Here's what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won't be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace."The world is full of so-called prayer warriors who are prayer-ignorant. They're full of formulas and programs and advice, peddling techniques for getting what you want from God. Don't fall for that nonsense. This is your Father you are dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply.
